Design Posters

Inspired by @thechrisdo

This is a series of posters I created to emphasize different keys to design and highlighting what goes into creating an effective piece of design. I am currently writing articles that will accompany the topic of each poster and go in depth on how to employ these different design elements and use them to your full advantage, mastering the art of visual communication.

The question is simple...

Why is design important? To understand why it is important, you need to understand what visual communication is.

“At its most basic level, visual communication design (formerly graphic design) is a creative process that combines the visual arts and technology to communicate ideas. It begins with a message that, in the hands of a talented designer, is transformed into visual communication that transcends mere words and pictures. By controlling color, type, movement, symbols, and images, the visual communication designer creates and manages the production of visuals designed to inform, educate, persuade, and even entertain a specific audience.” – University of Notre Dame

In short, design is important because it influences how we think, and the everyday decisions we make, and in its strongest form, it’s totally invisible to you.
